Beginner Needing Advice

Hello, I would like some advice from you veterans, about what I should and shouldn't do on my beginner account...

I started playing this week, and I'm loving the game, I already played a little when this game was released in 2016, but at the time I stopped, and now after many years I decided to go back, but I'm a little lost with the amount of things that were added to the game.

And what is worrying me the most is thinking that maybe I'm doing something wrong when I progress through the arenas and get a lot of trophies and get stuck at some point in the game.

I would like to know if this is possible? Can I play and progress naturally or is there a risk that I will get stuck if I progress by earning trophies and advancing through the arenas?

Oh a important information is that I'm semi-F2P, I don't intend to buy the Diamond Pass or spend huge amounts of money on the game.
